Re: 鈥淧anel throws cold water on Malahat detour idea,鈥� Feb. 21. Building a second highway over the Malahat simply doubles the scenario that exists on the current road: accidents and snow to contend with during the winter.

Re: 鈥淭erritorial recognition is important,鈥� column, Feb. 24. Recognizing the early presence of Indigenous people is important to the future of Canada. As a citizenship judge, I included the acknowledgment in all of my ceremonies.

Newly elected NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh appeared on B.C. morning TV news one day after his victory to express some thoughts on his party platform policies. We wish to expose the blatantly false statement he made during the live interview.

Re: 鈥淩espect the will of Venezuelan people,鈥� letter, Feb. 28. Venezuela used to be. And will be again. Venezuela used to be one of the biggest oil producers in the world. We had free health care and free schooling from kindergarten to university.
