What if we refuse to give our SIN?

Re: “B.C. government should SIN no more,” letter, Feb. 26. I couldn’t agree more with the writer. When a police officer stops a car, he or she asks for a driver’s licence as proof of identification.

I couldn’t agree more with the writer. When a police officer stops a car, he or she asks for a driver’s licence as proof of identification. When visiting a hospital or doctor’s office, a health card is required as proof of identification. These are both provincial documents, readily accessible by the Ministry of Finance.

Since the speculation tax relates to my property, why not ask for information on my tax assessment as proof of my identity?

If everyone refuses to give out their social insurance numbers, what then?
