Re: 鈥淗undreds rally to back Victoria鈥檚 horse-drawn carriages,鈥 May 24. I am a frequent visitor to Victoria from Montreal. This subject is of particular interest to me because Montreal is discontinuing our horse-drawn carriages.

May 29: Green leader had a choice

Re: 鈥淕reen leader鈥檚 staff let her down,鈥 letter, May 26. I reject claims by people such as Norman Spector that Elizabeth May, leader of the Green Party, had no choice but to ride in a Dodge Viper V-10 in the Victoria Day Parade.

Re: 鈥淕reen leader drove in a V-10 car,鈥 letter, May 23. Give me a break. We have an indignant citizen criticizing Elizabeth May for riding in the Victoria Day parade in a car that wasn鈥檛 electric.

May 29: Light up for safety

Re: 鈥淭he road to safety,鈥 May 26. The thorough and distressing article on motorbike safety emphasizes rider training. Many accidents involve another vehicle and are due to poor visualization of the motorbike.

Avoid chest-thumping on pipeline decision Re: 鈥淐ourt says B.C. can鈥檛 restrict oil shipments in key case for Trans Mountain,鈥 May 25. I was relieved to see that the B.C. Court of Appeal ruled that the B.C.

May 26: Roundabouts still cause headaches

While the airport expands, so do the headaches of drivers who have to navigate that series of roundabouts between the Pat Bay Highway and the airport. It鈥檚 hard enough for English-speaking locals to figure it out.
