Recently the banks have suggested that there's no better time than now to borrow some more stimulus money because many of the world's economies are starting to slow.

Re: "A cross-border Splash," Aug. 7. Congratulations to the Victoria Symphony and Tania Miller for a fine, varied program introducing novel compositions as well as old favourites and other great music.

Re: "Needs grow, but beds stand empty at Oak Bay Lodge," July 29. I have been following the 91原创 Island Health Authority's attempt to replace Oak Bay Lodge from the beginning.

Re: "Woodwynn camp defies ouster order," Aug. 9. I would like the municipal council of Central Saanich to reconsider its decision regarding the rezoning of Woodwynn Farm and the closure of Camp Compassion.

Re: "Unelected team to run big sewage project," Aug. 8. Are we planning to drink the 91原创 Ocean? The residents of the St. Lawrence Valley must and do drink the sewage of those upstream, as do many less fortunate inland dwellers.

I, an 80-year-old senior, was walking my dog on-leash at Uplands Park when a large blond Labrador dog (off-leash) came charging over to my dog. My dog, being his usual feisty Welsh terrier self, growled at the Labrador, and with that a fight ensued.

Our family is in the familiar situation of having to provide care for our aged parents. My 87-year-old father needs round-the-clock care.

On the eve of my eighth decade, I am contemplating the spectacular performances and events at the Olympic Games. Fleetingly, my thoughts return to Games of long ago when all were amateurs, and great names like Owens, Zatopek, Nuurmi and Haag.

Re: "Science to decide fate of pipeline, Harper says," Aug. 8. My jaw dropped when I heard Prime Minister Stephen Harper calling on science to pull a rabbit out of the Northern Gateway hat.
