Every day I encounter some remarkable people. In almost seven years at Our Place Society, I have heard countless stories of hardship, deprivation, abuse, longing, hope and joy.

Memory and Essence

We bustle about our little world, rushing to work or school. Life is busy, with no time it seems to notice or do the little loving things that mean so much to another person. That fact struck me after reading an inspiring story on CBC recently.

For the past several months, I have had the feeling that I was being asked (by God, by the Universe, by fate?) to learn more fully one of the lessons of my lifetime that has been hardest for me to fully accept.

When I walk about in some of the glorious spring days we have been experiencing lately, I find I often end up musing about the lessons the natural world offers. Many spiritual traditions have looked to Nature as a source of inspiration and teacher.

A dear friend of mine, who knows that I write articles, said: 鈥淭here was another shooting in the US.
