Now that B.C. Ferries passengers have made it clear they want to see the long-gone 91Ô´´ Buffet replaced, the company is launching a second survey to gather more specific information.

It wants to know what dishes you’d like to see on a menu — and how much you’re willing to pay.

In June, B.C. Ferries announced that the 91Ô´´ Buffet would not return. It closed down in the pandemic and the company decided against reopening the venture, which lost $1.2 million annually.

Customers were invited, however, to take part in a three-week survey, and more than 10,000 shared their ideas.

“Overall, respondents said they wanted a space that was special and distinct from the Seawest Lounge and cafeteria spaces offered on the 91Ô´´ (Tsawwassen) to Victoria (Swartz Bay) route,” B.C. Ferries said in a statement Wednesday.

Suggestions included setting up a new dining area, offering a view not available in other part of the vessel, providing comfortable seats and serving high-quality food, including plated entrees, desserts and artisanal foods.

B.C. Ferries’ latest survey runs for two weeks.
