Voters invited to meet Saanich council hopefuls at coffee shops

Dates set for coffee shops around Saanich

The Saanich Council Candidates Coffee Tour kicks off Monday and runs until Oct. 14 — the day before the municipal election — to give voters a chance to meet council candidates.

The tour, which was created for the 2018 municipal election, is again being hosted by incumbent Coun. Colin Plant, and will have Saanich candidates meeting weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. for “coffee chats” at a variety of locations.

Plant said the tour will give candidates the chance to meet as many Saanich residents as possible and hear what is important to them in the election.

The locations are as follows:

  • Sept. 26 — Broadmead ­Starbucks
  • Sept. 27 — Urban Cup ­(Shelbourne/Church)
  • Sept. 28 — Cherries Bistro (Wilkinson/Interurban)
  • Sept. 29 — Root Cellar (McKenzie/Blenkinsop)
  • Oct. 3 — Roundhouse Cafe (Rutledge Park)
  • Oct. 4 — Francelli’s (Royal Oak Plaza)
  • Oct. 5 — Mosi’s (Prospect Lake/West Saanich)
  • Oct. 6 — Township Coffee (Tyndall Ave. in Gordon Head)
  • Oct. 7 — Moka House ­(Cadboro Bay)
  • Oct. 10 — Tillicum Starbucks
  • Oct. 11 — Adrienne’s Tea ­Garden (Cordova Bay)
  • Oct. 12 — Good Earth Coffee (Uptown)
  • Oct. 13 — Shelbourne/Torquay Starbucks
  • Oct. 14 — Tim Horton’s ­(Gateway Village).
