Three teenagers hurt as car hits pole

Three teenagers were taken to hospital Saturday morning after the car they were riding in hit a telephone pole in Brentwood Bay.

Three teenagers were taken to hospital Saturday morning after the car they were riding in hit a telephone pole in Brentwood Bay.

The driver, a 17-year-old male from Central Saanich, lost control of the vehicle in the 6700 block of Wallace Drive, Central Saanich police said.

The driver's door was the main point of impact. Volunteer firefighters had to cut off the car's roof to get the driver out.

He and his two passengers, both 16-year-old boys, were admitted to Victoria General Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Police were investigating the accident but said alcohol is not considered a factor.
