Obed Avenue was blocked off Wednesday morning as Saanich police responded to reports of a distraught person with a weapon inside a home.
Police arrived just before 10 a.m. to the area of Obed at Bodega Road, and after an extended period of negotiation the person came outside.
A less-lethal beanbag round was deployed to take the individual into custody, and they were transported to hospital for assessment.
