Victoria police have released new photos of Emma Fillipoff on the ninth anniversary of the 26-year-old woman’s disappearance.
Detectives are hoping the photos, which include selfies and artistic photographs taken by Fillipoff, will “spark” additional information that helps to resolve the case.
On the evening of Nov. 28, 2012, Victoria police were contacted about a woman who was “acting oddly” in front of the Empress Hotel. The officers found Fillipoff and spoke with her at length, police spokesman Bowen Osoko said Sunday.
After the officers ensured her well-being, Fillipoff left. She was reported missing a few hours later. She has not been heard from or seen since.
Despite an extensive investigation, police have been unable to find out what happened to her. They are releasing the new photographs in the hope that someone will come forward with information.
The newly released photographs show Fillipoff smiling happily at the mirror, camera in hand. There are also more serious selfies and a photograph of her in a bathing suit with a starfish on her upper chest. One of the artistic photos is of a pair of flipflops in front of a sunlit empty rocking chair.
Fillipoff’s disappearance continues to be actively investigated, said Osoko. Hundreds of tips have been received from across the country but there have been no confirmed sightings of the young woman.
