Nanaimo RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a man and a woman wanted in connection with a jewelry store robbery where the owner was hit with bear spray.
Another suspect was arrested at the scene of the Oct. 2 robbery at a north Nanaimo store in which thousands of dollars in jewelry was stolen. James Stoppard, 39, remains in custody.
Police said they are looking for 45-year-old Robert Hawkins and 41-year-old Tamara Prince. Photos of the two were released on Friday.
Hawkins, described as white, six-foot-one and heavy-set, is charged with robbery, assault with a weapon, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property and theft over $5,000.
Prince, described as Indigenous, five-foot-nine and heavy-set, is charged with theft and possession of stolen property over $5,000.
Anyone who sees them is warned not to approach them and to call 911.
