Nanaimo RCMP are investigating what they’re calling a suspicious death after a body was found about noon Thursday behind the Nanaimo Curling Club on Wall Street.
The body was discovered by a passerby in a small forested area near the railway tracks, police said.
The site was cordoned off and the B.C. Coroners Service was called in.
Police said Friday the site will remain closed for the foreseeable future while officers search for forensic evidence.
The Nanaimo RCMP Serious Crime Unit is leading the investigation.
