While forest fires are an annual challenge, this year seems to have brought a plague of biblical proportions to BC. Newscasters and other commentators sometimes draw on a religious metaphor, calling such devastating natural events an 鈥淎ct of God鈥�.

In an article for the Faith Forum in November of 2014, I was looking ahead and noted that 2017 is the 500 th Anniversary of the Protestant Reformation.

Imagine this: a group of students went up to the mountaintop and saw Jesus walking and talking with Sigmund Freud and Karl Marx鈥攖wo of the most influential people of the modern world.

My friend Barb Northwood has been cultivating a meditation practice for many years. She's receptive to Buddhist talk but she is not Buddhist and I actually do not know where her religious preferences lie.

The USA鈥檚 decision to withdraw from the Paris Accord on Climate Change has ramped up the doomspeak on all sides of the issue. Some say we鈥檙e doomed if we don鈥檛 take action; others say we鈥檙e doomed if we do.
