Forests firing, rivers flooding, earth quaking, famine spreading, wars coming, climate changing, refugees fleeing, rents rising, costs climbing, incomes dropping, oceans clogging, storms lashing, species dying.

He was not a big man, at least not by the time I met him. Slight, bent over, often seemingly half-asleep. Certainly not threatening. But there was some presence about him that drew you in. His smile. His kindness. His sincerity. His humour.

I remember when I was little, maybe kindergarten age, when I was told by an adult that I shouldn鈥檛 despise worms. I had only just learned that the appropriate reaction to earthworms was to squeal and run away.

At first I was sceptical. How could something so easy make any difference in my life? The instructions are so simple. When you鈥檙e writing, write. When you鈥檙e thinking, think. When you鈥檙e doing anything, just be there in the moment, fully engaged.

The Corrymeela Community in Northern Ireland is place and a presence of reconciliation not only in Ireland but in many parts of the world. It is located just outside Ballycastle on the beautiful northern coast of Ireland.

I have spent the last month in Central Asia, a part of the world that has always seemed unreachable. Unreachable until the opportunity arose to volunteer with the University of Central Asia.

As I have aged, I have noticed and noted more just how much there is in life to know and experience. Increasingly, I am aware that I won鈥檛 get to it all. One lifetime can鈥檛 contain or connect with everything.
