As defined in most communities across North America, Meals on Wheels is a non-profit service providing hot meals delivered daily by volunteers.

In Victoria, Beacon Services has contracted this out to private, for-profit, businesses that deliver frozen foods once a week. This has been the case since Silver Threads eliminated the program from its mandate on Aug. 29, 2008. Edie Copeland, head of Silver Threads at that time, was quoted by the Times 91原创 in August 2008 that a city can measure its success by the absence of a Meals on Wheels program. Many cities across North America would disagree.

Victoria does not have Meals on Wheels available to its citizens.
