Re: "Unwilling to wait for surgery, Saanich woman goes to 91原创," Aug. 10.
A year ago, I was faced with the same diagnosis as the woman in this story. My experience is totally different.
On June 3, I had my regular mammogram. A couple of weeks later, I was told to go to Victoria General Hospital for further study. There I had another mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy. Results from the biopsy took a little longer as the long weekend came into play.
The biopsy showed malignancy and I had my surgery on July 26. Total elapsed time from regular mammogram to surgery was 7 1 /2 weeks.
One cannot ask for better than this.
