Re: "A community grows at Westhills," Aug. 31.
When you see new communities planned on the West Shore that could equal the current population of Langford, you almost shudder to think the chaos that awaits us in terms of issues like regional transportation.
We have all these inward-looking municipal governments, a regional government and inefficiencies in abundance wherever you look. Although a majority of area residents for the past 10 years have supported amalgamating our policing, the province has been unwilling to carry out the wishes of the people.
Hopefully, the day will come when a premier of this province will do what the premier of Nova Scotia once did, set in place a plan to amalgamate the communities of the provincial capital.
