Re: "Rules geared against the marginalized," Aug. 17.
Kudos to a wise young woman! Shannon Corregan looked at the "whole picture" in her editorial piece on some of our rules and regulations and was able to find the truth.
Our societal regulations are put in place to make for a safe and fair arena for us all to live in. But, as in so many things in life, one size does not fit all.
Think the national building code and leaky condos on the West Coast, our sewage situation with Victoria's unique location and tidal currents or perhaps even, smart meters and citizens with electro-magnetic sensitivities.
Rules were made for our benefit. If they don't benefit all, then perhaps they need to be revisited or exceptions made. I have hope for us as a species when I see this wisdom and breadth of vision coming from the next generation.
Thanks Shannon, you made my day!
