May 26: Green leader’s staff let her down

Yes, Elizabeth May should not have been driven in a Dodge Viper V-10 in the Victoria Day Parade and, as leader of the Green Party, she bears ultimate responsibility for this embarrassing episode.

However, by the time she arrived at the parade, the die was cast.

The real lesson to be drawn from this episode, therefore, is that May’s advance staff should check out arrangements before she agrees to participate in events of this nature.

And they should demand changes where necessary to reinforce the objectives of their leader.
