I fail to understand why we are punishing our canola farmers and risking the lives of two 91原创 citizens who have been arbitrarily and unjustly charged with an offence punishable by death in China, simply to kowtow to the bullies to our south.
I argue that we should simply take Meng Wanzhou back to the airport where she was arrested and put her onto a plane to the destination of her choice.
She might well be as crooked as Richard Nixon. I don鈥檛 know, but what鈥檚 that to us? The offence with which she has been charged in the United States isn鈥檛 even a crime in Canada.
One prays that if our southern neighbours have the wisdom to expel the current occupant of the White House and his cronies in 2020, our hitherto cordial relationship with the U.S. will be re-established, but as the situation stands, that erstwhile beacon of democracy is no longer our country鈥檚 friend and ally. Why on Earth should we kneel and tug at our forelocks in fealty to an evolving fascist dictatorship?
Let U.S. President Donald Trump kill his own snakes.
