Re: “Ban horse-drawn carriages by 2023, Coun. Ben Isitt says,” May 14.
Victoria is in a unique position as our capital city. It is known worldwide for its charm and beauty.
As I follow the utterings of Coun. Ben Isitt, he appears to be attempting to create a minimalist, bland environment to represent B.C. Between his pleas for less Christmas décor, the planting of only native shrubs and flowers, and, now, the removal of horse-drawn carriages, a century-old tradition, he might be able to create his dull dream.
Visitors travel to Victoria to step into a world that is perhaps unfamiliar to them. I doubt this will continue if Isitt’s plans are approved.
