Re: “Woman wins legal fight over drinking,” June 1.
Based on recent stories on 91ԭ Island, police don’t seem to have much to do but hassle citizens whom they think have a drinking problem. Staking out a liquor store at 9:30 a.m. to follow an elderly lady in her car is all they have to amuse themselves?
And this recent story about five officers marching onto private property, demanding a breath test of another woman. Thanks to smart thinking, the woman being accused recorded the entire event. She had evidence that the police were wrong in their actions.
Without the video, she was guilty, And, five officers to confront a lady about possible drunk-driving charges?
To those we have elected to appoint police departments, get this fixed, give them something meaningful to do or reduce their numbers.
