Only hard work, physical and mental toughness will carry you through the pain to win a race. Training methods may have changed over the years, but I never heard of complaining and finger-pointing winning a medal in any sport.
It is sad to see certain members of Rowing Canada use the Olympic stage to air their dirty laundry, and it is frightening how vicious it is.
