Kudos to Saanich for investing in bike lanes to schools and rec centres. The rest of us should take note.
No state-of-the-art light-rail transit system will winkle dedicated drivers out from behind the wheel. Bike lanes, on the other hand, are less expensive to design and incorporate, and encourage our children to choose environmentally friendly options from an early age.
