Re: “PM boots out Wilson-Raybould, Philpott,” April 3.
When you back someone into a corner, you should not be surprised by their reaction. Depending on the corner you back them into, you could be threatening their physical safety, mental well-being or ethical core. You are largely responsible for their reaction because you caused the problem in the first place.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is complaining that Jody Wilson-Raybould’s actions are not “fair.” There is nothing fair about this whole situation. He jammed her in an impossible corner and she fought her way out. We might not like her reaction, but Trudeau needs to own it.
That Trudeau seems incapable of accepting that he is responsible for his actions and her response just tells me that he is not fit to be a leader.
I don’t know what will happen to Wilson-Raybould now that she is out of caucus, but I am sure that her moral compass is far stronger than Trudeau’s, and she will come out just fine in the end.
Good on you, Jody.
