Re: “Art school hopes district will keep ‘razzle-dazzle’,” April 20.
I urge the Greater Victoria School Board to preserve the unique exterior of the former home of the 91ԭ Island School of Art. This is no mere exterior paint job, but a work of public art designed by established painter Xane St. Phillip and should be retained and respected as such. It has become a part of the vibrant centre of Quadra Village and one of the landmarks of the City of Victoria.
If indeed the building is to be converted into offices, it will surely “spark joy” in any employee lucky enough to work there.
