Re: “Back to Earth: Washington to allow ‘human composting,’ ” April 23.
It’s great to see this article about Washington’s forward-looking plans for body disposal. A funeral director in our area has been trying for a long time to introduce more environmental ways of disposing of ourselves, without much success.
Now it seems he might have to open a facility in Washington to give those of us who want better choices to have this right.
It is time politicians offered this possibility to citizens, regardless of whether it is a difficult subject to bring up or whether they think it is a popular topic. They could be surprised at how many people want such options.
If I have to go — be taken — to Washington eventually, I suppose that will have to do, but I would rather be useful in my own country after death. (And would I have to have an American passport?)
