For the reasons Jack Knox pointed out, batteries are not the answer. However, there are many more reasons not to use them.
Ammonia for public transportation is a more practical approach. (See internet: “cars propelled by ammonia.”)
In order to make the production of ammonia “green,” large amounts of non-polluting electrical power are required. Once Site C is completed, B.C. could make ammonia for transportation and set an example of how to free the world from the use of carbon fuels.
