A woman was arrested Thursday afternoon after Saanich police responded to a report of someone in possession of a firearm near Shelbourne Street and Cedar Hill Cross Road.
Police were called about 3:30 p.m. and set up containment around a home in the 1500-block of Christmas Avenue with assistance from the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team.
The woman was due to appear in court Friday.
Police said a firearm was recovered and the investigation is ongoing, adding there was a significant response because of the risk posed by a possible firearm.
