Three men have been arrested in Nanaimo following a violent home invasion early Saturday that RCMP say targeted the wrong address.

Alicia Appleton, her boyfriend and another roommate awakened to a crash in their apartment. Appleton ran to the dining room and saw three men. They had removed the screen and entered through the window.

Appleton told CHEK News she confronted the men. One of them then struck her three times in the face. She and her two roommates chased the assailants down the apartment building stairs. One was captured in the courtyard, while the other two were later arrested by Nanaimo RCMP.

Appleton, who suffered a bruised and swollen eye, a broken jaw and lost teeth, had surgery later on Saturday. She will require more surgery to have a plate put in her jaw.

Police believe Appleton's suite number was the same as the intended target.

Charged with break and enter are 20-year-old Hudson Klassen and Cuong Luu, 22, of Nanaimo and 20-year-old Long Tran of 91原创. They appeared in Nanaimo provincial court Monday.
