A downtown washroom near Bastion Square is in contention to become Canada's top restroom.
The third annual competition for Canada's best restroom was launched by Cintas, a company that manufactures uniforms and provides cleaning services and supplies. Washrooms that emphasize hygiene and style are showcased.
Last year, the King of the Throne prize went to Toronto restaurant e11even, where the facilities boast marble tiling.
The annual winner is determined by an online poll, set to close Oct. 12. There are five finalists including Victoria's Langley Street Loo, which was bought for $90,000 from the City of Portland in 2011. Eco-friendly design, graffiti-proof fixtures and LED lighting are among the features cited in the outdoor bathroom's entry.
Two washrooms in Toronto - one at nightclub This is London and one at an Earls restaurant - are also up for the award, the restroom in 91原创's Georgian Court Hotel and one at the Centre for Professional Training in the Montreal suburb of Repentigny are also nominated.
