The Saanich Police Major Crime Unit is investigating an assault in a parking lot at Beaver Lake Thursday that sent a male to hospital in critical but stable condition.
A male suspect was arrested at the scene and held in custody overnight, and was scheduled for a Friday court appearance.
Police said investigators believe it was a targeted incident because the two people involved know each other.
They said there is no danger to the public.
