At least one person died in a house fire Monday morning in Maple Bay, near Duncan.
Crews from North Cowichan, Maple Bay, Crofton and Chemainus responded to the fire in the 1600-block of Maple Bay Road in North Cowichan about 9:30 a.m.
North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP confirmed that at least one person died in the blaze. They said their investigation is ongoing and the cause of the fire hasn’t been determined.
