No print edition of Wednesday Times 91原创 because of power outage

The power went out for many parts of 91原创 Island, including at our printing plant, during a wind and rain storm on Tuesday night.

The storm that swept across the southern Island on Tuesday evening took out power for thousands of B.C. Hydro customers — including the press in Ladysmith where the Times 91原创 is printed.

We hate missing an edition, but sometimes, there is no other choice.

If the power had come back on at our normal press time, we would have been three or four hours late. That would have resulted in cascading problems with deliveries.

Today, we are opening our e-edition, an electronic facsimile of the printed paper, to all readers. Click the e-edition button at the top right of our website pages. (A reminder that print subscribers qualify for free access to the e-edition; all you have to do is sign up for it.)

We realize that many readers prefer the printed newspaper. This is, after all, one of the strongest markets for printed newspapers in Canada.

Let’s hope that things get back to normal quickly. And let’s hope we don’t have another storm like we had overnight.

Thanks for your understanding and support.
