A man was stabbed in the leg Sunday morning in Esquimalt in what police say appears to be a domestic dispute.At 8:30 a.m. police were called to an apartment building in the 700-block of Admirals Road in Esquimalt.Sgt. Colin Brown said police found a 37-year-old man had been stabbed in the leg and there were cuts on his back and arm.A 33-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and is being charged with one count of assault with a weapon.Brown said the man and woman were in a long-term relationship marked by domestic violence in the past.It is alleged that the woman stabbed the male as a result of an argument. Police say the two had been drinking with friends throughout the night and believe alcohol was a factor.The man was sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries but remains in police custody for failing to meet probation conditions.The woman has been released on the condition that she does not have contact with the man.
