Police were called about 4 p.m. Saturday and located the suspect in a busy area near the 800-block of Yates Street.

A Taser was used when the man resisted arrest.

“The suspect, while still armed, continued to resist arrest until eventually officers were able to bring him into custody with the assistance of additional responding members,” police said in a statement.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries and released back into police custody. A bail hearing was scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
