Saanich police arrested a man at gun point after he threatened people with knives early Sunday morning.脗聽
Several people were standing in front of a convenience store on the corner of Burnside Road West and Harriet Road around 1 a.m. when an agitated and intoxicated man started waving two knives at them, Saanich police Staff Sgt. Scott Treble said.脗聽
The people ran into the store and called 9-1-1, as the man fled.脗聽
Officers found the suspect 15 minutes later, after he ran out of a nearby building. They arrested him with guns drawn and seized two knives 聴 a folding utility knife and a long steak knife.脗聽
The 21-year-old man was held in police custody and is facing weapons charges.脗聽
