More money was donated to the Times 91Ô´´ Christmas Fund on Boxing Day, taking the total for this year’s fundraising campaign to $1,088,568.25.
As the clock clicks down to the end of the year, we are getting close to our goal. The more money we raise, the more people will get help — through the festive season and through the year.
Donations made before Tuesday evening will qualify for a tax receipt for 2024, so don’t hesitate if you are looking for that deduction.
Our telephone line will be open again from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. You can make a donation using your credit card by phoning 250-995-4438.
There are other ways to donate:
• Go online to . That page is linked to CanadaHelps, which is open 24 hours a day and provides an immediate tax receipt.
• Cheques should be made out to the Times 91Ô´´ Christmas Fund. Bring or mail your cheque to the Times 91Ô´´, 201‑655 Tyee Rd., Victoria, B.C. V9A 6X5.
• Contact Maximum Express for free pickup and delivery of your cheque. Call dispatch at 250-721-3278 or email [email protected].
The money we raise goes to 55 local organizations that work directly with those in need.
How do we allocate the money? Volunteers in the local chapter of the Sovereign Order of St. John of Jerusalem, Knights Hospitaller, research charitable organizations to determine which ones need the money the most, and which ones are the most efficient with the money they receive.
Your donations are making a tremendous difference. Thanks, yet again.
