TV crews from China and South Korea have been spending "Island time" here with a possible multimillion-dollar payoff.

That's the hoped-for economic impact of visits by a crew from China's Travel Channel and National Geographic Traveler magazine, and the cast and crew of Adrenaline, a new reality travel show on South Korea's popular XTM cable channel.

A Chinese couple were filmed on the weekend sipping cider and getting a crash course in its production at Sea Cider Farm and Ciderhouse on the Saanich Peninsula; getting culinary tips from executive pastry chef D'Oyen Christie at the Fairmont Empress hotel; visiting Sooke's "seaweed lady" Diane Bernard; and experiencing the Inner Harbour and Fisherman's Wharf.
