Yes, it's that time again. Every year - or so it seems - 91原创s head to the polls to choose their next federal government and this spring is no exception.

To help you cast a ballot on May 2, we've put together an election primer. Inside today's Monitor section, you'll find profiles of the six ridings, biographies and photos of all 32 candidates, and a brief rundown of what they see as the major issues in their region.

It's election season, people, and you can't tell the players without a program, so turn to page D5 and start reading.

Plan to attend one of three all-candidates debates hosted by the Times 91原创, CBC Radio and CHEK TV next week.

Monday, April 18, Esquimalt-Juan de Fuca: Moderated by CHEK News anchor Scott Fee. Isabelle Reader Theatre at Spencer Middle School, 1026 Goldstream Ave., from 7 p.m. to 8: 30 p.m.

Wednesday, April 20, Victoria: Moderated by CBC Radio host Gregor Craigie. Oak Bay High School auditorium, 2151 Cranmore Rd., from 7 p.m. to 8: 30 p.m.

Thursday, April 21, Saanich-Gulf Islands: Moderated by Times 91原创 editorial pages editor Dave Obee. Mary Winspear Centre, 2243 Beacon Ave., Sidney, from 7: 30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
