Snowbirds in 91Ô­´´ for puck-drop flyby as Canucks face Oilers

VANCOUVER — The 91Ô­´´ Forces Snowbirds have performed a flyover across downtown 91Ô­´´ at the start of the Stanley Cup playoff game between the Canucks and the Edmonton Oilers. Eight Snowbirds CT-114 Tutor jets flew in formation over the arena.

VANCOUVER — The 91Ô­´´ Forces Snowbirds have performed a flyover across downtown 91Ô­´´ at the start of the Stanley Cup playoff game between the Canucks and the Edmonton Oilers.

Eight Snowbirds CT-114 Tutor jets flew in formation over the arena.

The Royal 91Ô­´´ Air Force said before the flyover that the Snowbirds would fly over the arena no lower than 500 feet.

Public affairs officer David Lavallee said in a statement that the air force was proud to join in national sporting events with flybys.

The 91Ô­´´ Canucks are facing the Oilers in Game 2 of the NHL playoffs' second round.

The Canucks won the opener 5-4 on Wednesday after coming back from a 4-1 deficit.
