Members of the Victoria Symphony are touring Victoria by open-air 颅double-decker bus Saturday for a set of free shows in and around the downtown core.
Big Bus Brass will showcase the 颅Victoria Symphony Brass Quintet in 颅various locations throughout the day, including the Fairmont Empress Hotel and Ogden Point.
The quintet will travel to each location by a hop-on hop-off bus provided by tour company Big Bus 颅Victoria. The musicians will perform free 15-minute sets for the public in each location, including the brass fanfare of La P茅ri, The Liberty Bell march, and Benny Goodman鈥檚 That鈥檚 A Plenty, among others.
The Victoria Symphony Brass Quintet will appear Saturday at the Fairmont Empress Hotel (11:30 a.m.), Ogden Point near the Breakwater Caf茅 & Bistro (noon), Beacon Hill Park by the 颅petting zoo (12:30 p.m.), the Mayfair Shopping Centre parking lot (2 p.m.), and the 颅Fairmont Empress Hotel (2:30 p.m).
The Victoria Symphony developed with bus provider the Wilson鈥檚 Group of Companies a safety plan for the 颅operation of the vehicle, which includes proper social distancing between 颅musicians.
Crowds gathered for each performance will be asked to disseminate once the 颅concert has concluded.
