Jennifer Nell Barr鈥檚 research and writing work for the Victoria Heritage Foundation鈥檚 This Old House series has been recognized by the British Columbia Historical Federation.
The Victoria author and heritage researcher was presented with the Inspiration Award during the BCHF鈥檚 online awards gala June 5. Bell is well known in the local heritage sector for her work with a variety of historical societies, including the Victoria Heritage Foundation, which has produced four popular This Old House volumes since 1999.
Barr has written books on a variety of neighbourhoods and communities across 91原创 Island, such as Ross Bay, Cumberland and Saanich. She has been a member of the Hallmark Heritage Society since 1980 and has spoken at councils in the Capital Region in support of heritage preservation.
