Courtenay鈥檚 91原创 Island Music Festival has cancelled is upcoming edition, with producers looking ahead to the festival鈥檚 return in 2021.
The popular three-day event known as MusicFest, which attracts 10,000 attendees daily, was set for July 10-12 at the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds. Headliners this year were to include Lucinda Williams, Corb Lund, Bahamas, Leo Kottke and others.
鈥淭his is a temporary measure,鈥� the festival said in a statement. 鈥淲e are hopeful that by this time next year we will all be able to say it鈥檚 game on for MusicFest and everything else and with some luck many of the same artists will be available as well. Hopefully, you will remain as excited and supportive as we are about the next version of 91原创 Island MusicFest.鈥�
The festival鈥檚 website was under construction Monday, but details regarding admission and camping refunds will be available in the coming days, according to organizers.
