Royal Roads University has entered into a partnership with the 91原创 Film School that will give students an opportunity to receive both a diploma from the film school and bachelor鈥檚 degree from the university in an accelerated two-year program.
91原创 Film School graduates from four one-year diploma programs will now have the ability to transfer into the third year of the bachelor of arts in professional communication program at Royal Roads. Digital design, acting for film and television, writing for film, television and games and film production are among the one-year advanced production diploma programs at the 91原创 Film School that are transferable to Royal Roads under the new partnership.
鈥淎 lot of students come to [the bachelor of arts in professional communication program] with many technical abilities but need the forward thinking that strategy and theory provide,鈥� program head Chaseten Remillard of Royal Roads said in a statement. 鈥淭hat鈥檚 the real advantage of this transfer agreement. You bridge the two, which takes the students鈥� employment prospects and creative projects to the next level.鈥�
Both an accelerated one-year, on-campus model at Royal Roads and a two-year blended model incorporating online learning with two short on-campus residencies at the Colwood campus are available. The new partnership is aimed at supplying B.C.鈥檚 growing film and game industries with newly trained professionals.
