The Privilege is Mine

This past week-and-a-half have been spent madly working on the second incarnation of So You Think You Can Write – meeting with the judges, reviewing entries and tidying up all kinds of details.

This past week-and-a-half have been spent madly working on the second incarnation of So You Think You Can Write – meeting with the judges, reviewing entries and tidying up all kinds of details.Ìý And while it has been a pleasure, it hasn’t left much room for anything elseÌý- like blogging.

ÌýThe entries we’ve received to the contest are terrific.Ìý The caliber ofÌýwriting is impressive, showing the depth and breadth of the writing community here in Victoria.Ìý I can honestly say, I’m not sure my offering would have made it into the top 25. Humbling and inspirational.Ìý

Having the four mandatory words gave me, a non-teacher, a point of reference when looking at the submissions.ÌýThe myriad ways the four words can be used is boggling.

The judges are a dream to work with. Their commitment to helping develop writers is paramount and they treat everyone’s writing efforts with such respect. Here are the links to our author-judges’ info online. Profiles of them appeared in the Sunday, September 18 edition of the TC.ÌýÌýÌý
