This past week-and-a-half have been spent madly working on the second incarnation of So You Think You Can Write 鈥� meeting with the judges, reviewing entries and tidying up all kinds of details.听 And while it has been a pleasure, it hasn鈥檛 left much room for anything else听- like blogging.
听The entries we鈥檝e received to the contest are terrific.听 The caliber of听writing is impressive, showing the depth and breadth of the writing community here in Victoria.听 I can honestly say, I鈥檓 not sure my offering would have made it into the top 25. Humbling and inspirational.听
Having the four mandatory words gave me, a non-teacher, a point of reference when looking at the submissions.听The myriad ways the four words can be used is boggling.
The judges are a dream to work with. Their commitment to helping develop writers is paramount and they treat everyone鈥檚 writing efforts with such respect. Here are the links to our author-judges鈥� info online. Profiles of them appeared in the Sunday, September 18 edition of the TC.听听听

And now, to look at my attempt at the submission assignment with fresh, critical听eyes and see what I can do to make it better.
