Singer-pianist Ashley Wey is hosting an all-star fundraiser at Hermann鈥檚 Jazz Club Friday night benefiting a friend and a family member with mounting medical bills.
Wey, who also manages the popular View Street venue, is performing with her bandmates Louis Rudner (bass) and Nicholas Bracewell (drums) in a benefit concert that will raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Transplant BC.
鈥淚 have two people in my life very close to me who have been through extraordinary struggles for their lives in the past couple of years,鈥� Wey said in a statement.
鈥淢y life coach and body worker just received a heart transplant and is now on the long road to recovery. The other person close to me is in constant heart failure and depends on his pacemaker to get through every day he wakes up. He will need a heart transplant with the next year. He is a Make-a-Wish Child of the Year and is a miracle in our lives.鈥�
The Ashley Wey Trio will be joined by Shanna Dance, Morien Jones, Jonnie Bridgman, and Kim Greenwood.
