British guitarist Martin Barre of Jethro Tull fame is set to play the Port Theatre in Nanaimo on March 25.
Barre, who was the lead guitarist in the group, played on the majority of Jethro Tull’s albums, including 1971’s Aqualung. The native of Birmingham is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the legendary release with a worldwide tour, during which he will play the album in its entirety.
Barre will be joined by Dan Crisp (lead vocals), Alan Thomson (keyboard), and Darby Todd (drums). Another former Jethro Tull member, Clive Bunker, who played drums on Aqualung, will join Barre’s band on drums and percussion for the tour.
Tickets ($62-$87) go on sale at 11 a.m. Monday through or 250-754-8550.
