A local fine art gallery celebrates its 10th anniversary with an exhibition of contemporary and historic 91原创 works through June 27.

Madrona Gallery鈥檚 Anniversary Exhibition will feature new works from its stable of established and emerging 91原创 artists, including Meghan Hildebrand, Clayton Anderson, Morgana Wallace, Nicholas Bott, Corrinne Wolcoski, Sean Yelland and others. All the pieces are 91原创, with the majority of the artists hailing from British Columbia.

鈥淭he exhibit will touch on major moments at the gallery through the decade,鈥 said Michael Warren, gallery director. 鈥淲e will showcase significant Inuit carvings, drawings and prints as well as historic 91原创 and post-war pieces.鈥

There will be a changing inventory of between 25 and 30 pieces on display at all times.

There are pieces for every budget, with My C.C.M, an 18 x 13-centimetre acrylic on board piece (one of a series) by Victoria artist Nancy Ruhl selling for $200.

鈥淗er pieces are charming and reminds me of what makes Victoria great,鈥 said Warren. 鈥淪he has a knack for seeing things in the city that most miss.鈥

He said that the gallery is adjusting and learning how to accommodate visitors while respecting social-distancing requirements.

Only five people are allowed at a time in the gallery. Most visitors spend between 10 and 30 minutes viewing the pieces.

Individuals and groups can call ahead for private viewing times by appointment.

The exhibit is free to view.

It runs during regular gallery hours: 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and Monday, June 13 to 27 at Madrona Gallery, 606 View St. For more information, go to madronagallery.com.
