More donations came in on Friday, boosting the Times聽91原创 Literacy Society鈥檚 2020 fundraising effort to $58,700.

The direct appeal takes the place of the annual book drive, which had to be cancelled this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The total donated includes $28,700 from individuals and organizations, and $30,000 from Russell Books in聽exchange for books donated in a 颅special drop-off聽day in August.

No donation is too small. Every donation will help to make a difference to those who need help with their reading skills, or don鈥檛 have easy access to reading material.

Whatever we raise will be enhanced by additional funding from Decoda Literacy Solutions, which 颅distributes money from the provincial government. The more we can raise on our own, the more we will get from Decoda, and literacy organizations and school libraries will benefit.

Please donate through timescolonist.com; you will see the link to the donation form on the upper right corner.
